Another Hollywood movie is coming to Greater Cincinnati.
On the heels of Carol, Miles Ahead, and The Blunderer, comes Goat, which will shoot this spring.
Producers Christine Vachon and David Hinojosa of Killer Films are joined by Rabbit Bandini’s James Franco, Vince Jolivette, and executive producer John Wells.
“We had a great experience in Cincinnati on our films Carol and The Blunderer in 2014,” Vachon said. “The (Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky) Film Commission, the rebate, locations, infrastructure and film-friendly people of Cincinnati – have brought us back again.”
Production offices will opened last week. Goat will begin filming on May 4th. The Wrap reported in January that Nick Jonas, of Jonas Brothers-fame, would star.
The film is based on the 2005 memoir of the same name by Brad Land about a teenager adbucted and robbed who then experiences further abuse in a college fraternity.
When The Blunderer shot in the winter, scenes were filmed in Northern Kentucky, including in front of the Marianne Theater in Bellevue. The Miles Davis biopic used a Covington parking lot to store its vintage vehicles used in the film which was shot in Cincinnati.

“There are moments when you sort of question yourself like anything and wonder if you’re making the right move forward, but I feel like the minute I really started creating, I came to a place where I was locked in and felt like I was making the right move, pushing myself and continuing to be around people that make me better,” Nick told us exclusively at last night’s HFPA Grants Banquet in Beverly Hills. “And it’s been a great process. I’m really looking forward to people hearing the whole record.”
Nick says Kevin and Joe got to hear his latest single “Chains” before anyone else. “They heard it before everyone else did. They loved it,” he told us. “They were really positive. It was great to feel that from them. They all have their things going on as well. We’re supportive for each other till the end.”
As for what fans think of Jonas’ new solo music, he dished, “The response has been incredible…It’s so different from what I’ve released in the past and it is sort of helping change opinions and evolve things and moving forward.”
Jonas also exclusively teased his next single. “In the next couple weeks, you’ll be seeing a new song, it’s called ‘Jealous,'” he revealed. “‘Jealous’ is a little bit more up-tempo. It’s a fun song with a topic I think a lot of people relate to. It will make you get up and dance a little bit but it still has a little bit on the dark side.”

Nick Jonas is ready to move on the next phase of his music career following the disbandment of the Jonas Brothers, and on Thursday (July 24), the youngest JoBro dropped an intriguing preview of his forthcoming solo full-length. Click here to listen to new single “Chains,” which premiered on Complex.
“Chains” is distinctly different from the Jonas Brothers’ music, as well as Nick’s music with the Administration — silky vocals and a decisive R&B aesthetic made one Billboard staffer compare the track to a Miguel song when Jonas stopped by the Billboard office to play new music earlier this week. “Tryna break the chains, but the chains only break me,” Jonas declares, desperately trying to position himself as an adult artist, and soundly succeeding.
Produced by Jason Evigan, “Chains” is the first single from Jonas’ forthcoming album on Island Records. It’s also the first music Jonas has released since the Jonas Brothers scrapped a comeback tour and parted ways last October.
The as-yet-untitled album will not feature the Administration, his backing band with whom he released an album, “Who I Am,” in 2010. “Who I Am” has sold 179,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Nick Jonas has emancipated himself from the squeaky-clean shackles of former purity ring-wearing boy band The Jonas Brothers.
After the wholesome trio broke up in October, there’s been some deep, dark soul-searching.
Now Nick is making a comeback with a buffed-up physique for DirecTV’s mixed martial arts drama “Navy Street” and a song called “Chains,” which describes his feelings about being trapped for years in the chaste character of a JoBro and comes with a racy video starring Dylan Penn.
A source told us, “ ‘Chains’ is a metaphor for what he has been feeling all these years.”
But before you assume he’s now gone all Miley Cyrus, the source added, “Nick has spent years experiencing a burden that’s hard to explain. He’s not blaming anyone for it; it’s just what fame does to people, especially at a young age.
“Different people respond in different ways — some do drugs and act out, but his response was to conform to what he thought people wanted him to be. Remember, he was a 13 year-old kid when he became famous. For example: He thought that when he slept in a hotel room on tour, people would talk s - - t about him if he didn’t make his own bed. So he made it.
“He feels free now for the first time in his life. He’s making music he believes in. He’s done apologizing for everything and trying to be perfect. He’s just going to be himself; if people like him, great, if not, he’s done giving a s - - t.”

No, they’re not dating!
The two were in downtown L.A. this weekend shooting a secret video project for Mr. Jonas.
“It’s very hot,” a source exclusively tells me. “It was very sexy and steamy.”
Filming took place over two days at the Hotel Alexandria, an historic building which has also been used for Dreamgirls, Water for Elephants and Se7en.
Sources declined to detail what the video was for, but they assured us, as one eyewitness put it, “there was a ton of chemistry.”
Jonas tweeted an Instagram photo on Saturday showing actors dressed as riot police with a simple caption saying, “#foreshadow.”
A few days before he posted a video of himself with singer-producer Mike Posner along with a sample of new music with the message, “musictime #areyouready @mikeposner.”
We’re definitely ready!
Also coming up for Jonas is the indie movie Careful What You Wish For and Kingdom, a new DirecTV series (premiering in October) that takes place in the world of mixed martial arts.
Penn (she’s the daughter of Sean Penn and Robin Wright) recently wrapped her first movie, Condemned, a horror flick costarring Lydia Hearst.
“I’m trying out this whole acting thing,” she told Treats magazine in April. “It’s hard to say for me because I’ve rejected it my whole life until now. I literally can’t say it without laughing. My truest passion is writing so I continue to do that on my own while seeing what all the buzz is about being in front of the camera.”

It’s been a hot minute since we had some Fashion Fanfic on da blog, and when we spotted Joe Jonas having a grand ol’ time during Milan Fashion Week these past few days, we couldn’t help wondering what notes he’d jot down in his fashion week diary. So, we thought we’d make it up ourselves. Inspired by the (very!) real three-piece NYFW installment he wrote last season, here’s a fabricated version of what went down overseas with Front Row Joe (as we’re affectionately calling him) at MFW.
DAY 1: JOHN VARVATOS
Hey. It’s me, Joe. (IDK if I’m supposed to introduce myself to a diary, but I’m a gentleman, and it seems rude not to.) I flew into Italy last night and headed to the John Varvatos show first thing in the morning. Instead of my normal AM juice run (kale FTW, am I right?), I did a shot of espresso because I’m in Europe, and I’m #living. Even though it’s not seasonally appropriate, I decided to play it safe in an all-black outfit because that’s what NYFW taught me, and I do everything they say. In this photo, I’m trying to force a smile while thinking about all the #worldcup games I’m missing because of this. (U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!)
I felt uncomfortable once I realized I didn’t get the whole wide-brimmed-hat-and-extraneous-layers front row memo, but Adolfo (the dude in the white jacket) assured me that if I wore some of his wooden bead bracelets, no one could tell I was a Milan Fashion Week newbie. I was hesitant, but once I saw his outdated camcorder, I felt sad and slid them on while giving him direct eye contact to show my utmost sincerity. People without iPhones are so, like, real, you know?
The show was cool. To be honest, I spent most of my time staring at this very well-dressed man across the runway wondering how I could cop his entire look for myself so I didn’t really see most of the clothes per se, but my main man John V. is a total #rockstar so I know he most likely killed it. Also, whoa, models are tall, man.
DAY 2: MISSONI & VIVIENNE WESTWOOD
On the second day, I decided to kick it up a notch in a gray suit for the Missoni show, but as it turns out, you can wear a graphic tee and slip-ons and still end up in the front row. Fashion is so confusing! Thankfully, I Snapchatted this outfit to my GF Blanda earlier that morning, and she gave it three thumbs-up emojis so you can pretty much say I was on cloud nine. (She says hi.)
I decided to count all the rugs on the runway while I waited for the show to start. There were 28.
This is me counting them. I used my iPhone to help keep track. It was hard.
Then, I went to Vivienne Westwood’s show where I got so lost in conversation with her team backstage, I kinda missed the entire show. (Oops.) She was such a #goddess and a #pleasure, and I am #humbled.
DAY 3: DIESEL BLACK GOLD
During the morning of the Diesel Black Gold show, I decided to do two shots of espresso (that stuff is addictive!) and jogged all the way to the venue. I was one of the first people there, and I was super stoked until my manager told me later that I should never get there too early and—even if I do—I should never, ever sit down right away. So… I guess this is photo evidence that I’m a total #fashionrookie, lol. #ohwell
The Diesel clothes were cool. I would probably wear everything I saw on the runway. This motorcycle jacket looks like someone went crazy on it with a white-out pen. Wait, do those even exist anymore? I gotta Google that.
DAY 4: DSQUARED2
For my last day at the Dsquared2 show, I really pulled out all the stops in a double-breasted (hehe, breast) suit with a black tie. I stood on the actual runway for this shot, which kind of isn’t allowed, but I was feeling like a #badass so I did it anyway. (Don’t be mad, Blanda.)
This was definitely my favorite show. They had a lot of wearable looks, and I’m really into streetwear these days. This cat sweater was cool, and I never thought I’d want a sweater with a feline on it, but purr-haps I could make an exception. (Get it? #haha) Overall, I had a really great time, but I would suggest one thing: Don’t have more than eight shots of espresso in one day because I just did, and I’m so jacked that I could basically run a marathon right now, lol. Well, minus the fact that all my limbs are convulsing. Should I go to the doctor…? Anyway, can’t wait for the next fashion week! If you’re there, look for me in the front row.

What is one perception that people have of Joe Jonas that is not true?
That I am a scientist. I am not a scientist.
The Jonas brothers were like the modern day Jackson 5, who did you idolize growing up?
Growing up, I really admired front men. Performers like Freddie Mercury and Bono were huge inspirations for me. When they were on stage, they owned the audience.
You are really into fashion. What brand will you be sporting this summer?
Diesel has some great bathing suits I’ve been wearing as shorts. And Sandro tank tops.
You have been linked to some of the most beautiful women ever, but what turns you on most in a woman?
I know people say this a lot, but it’s true for me: Confidence. That and a sense of humor. A good taste in music helps.
Do you consider yourself a hopeless romantic?
I think I’m not very romantic. I like to do nice and thoughtful things for my girl. But I’m not hopeless – more like a hopeful romantic.
How do you get beach body ready for summer? Any work out routines or regiments?
Surgery. Lots of it. Oh…Also going to the gym and Modo Yoga.
Many girls would love to know what dating Joe Jonas would be like?
Hmm, I wouldn’t know. I’ve never dated him.
Boxers or briefs?
Are you a morning person?
Yes, after I’ve had some coffee, and it’s after 12pm.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Odin Number 10.
What song is currently on repeat in your car?
“You & Me” – Disclosure (Flume Remix).
One thing that annoys you?
When my car is dirty.
Favorite vacation spot?
Somewhere tropical – like Antigua.
Cats or Dogs
I’m a dog person. Unless I can keep Grumpy Cat. Then I will take him.
Biggie or Tupac?
Everything is bigger in Texas?
So I’ve been told.
Have you ever went on a date with a fan?
If they were making a Jonas Bros movie, who would you like to see casted as you?
What can we expect from Joe Jonas this year?
A lot of exciting new things. I’ll definitely be working on my music, as well as some other new projects that are still in the early stages, but I’m really looking forward to what the rest of this year has in store.
“Instant Need” – FKJ
“Snake Charmer” – Bag Raiders
“Keep You” – Wild Belle
“Hurricane” – MS MR (Goldroom Remix)
“From Nowhere” – Dan Croll
“58 BPM” – Tensnake

So what becomes of teen pop stars when they give up the pop?
The Jonas Brothers suddenly announced their breakup (as a band, not as brothers) last year, surprising their hardcore fans – a constituency which admittedly had shrunk somewhat since their heyday as Disney Channel heartthrobs about five years ago. All of the guys had somewhat been straying from the band idea for a while: Joe was starting to concentrate on acting, Nick put together his own band on the side and Kevin had become a dad.
Still, these guys had been making music since they were little boys. When the split happened, it begged the question, what is next for the Jonas boys?
This show featuring two of the three brothers, part of a three-stop East coast mini-tour, appears to be the answer. It was recently announced with a certain amount of fanfare and also a bit of mystery. This Philly area stop was the second of the three shows (one had been in Wilmington, Delaware, and the other one was in their hometown of Freehold, New Jersey.)
It was promoted as an interactive spoken word tour. Which got people wondering – if they weren’t going to sing, what exactly were they going to do? The Jonases don’t seem the type to do stand up, or to get topical or rant about society, like say Henry Rollins. So what’s the dealio?
The crowd was made up almost entirely of teenaged girls who were decked out to make sure that Kevin and Joe knew that they had developed breasts since the boys last saw them. It was not a huge audience (actually the venue was about half empty), but the girls who were there were very passionate fans, screeching their appreciation and love throughout.
The empty seats probably were not totally an indictment on the guys’ waning popularity, more likely people just weren’t sure what exactly the Jonas Brothers were planning on doing if they weren’t singing. And would taking a chance to find out whatever it was be worth the slightly hefty ticket price (particularly on a young girl’s budget)?
It turns out that Off the Record with Kevin and Joe Jonas was a celebration of all things Jonas, a virtual Jonas convention complete with Q&As, cute baby videos and lots and lots of filmed footage of the group’s glory days. Their long-time best friend acted as emcee, asking questions he had collected from the crowd and sort interviewing/reminiscing with the guys.
The show started with a tease right off the bat. Sitting on a rather comfy looking living room set, taking questions from the crowd, the first one addressed the elephant in the room: Why did you guys break up? The guys looked faux uncomfortable, Kevin even grabbing a beer from a piece of stage setting (this ain’t the Disney Channel no more, guys!). Then they said we’ll get to that later. Maybe. And then they kept pushing the question back as it kept getting asked in different ways. Later, when another girl asked where little brother Nick was that night, the guys vaguely said he was working on a new TV show.
And after a few minutes of talking and a couple of questions answered, cue the next video montage.
The guys were charming, mostly funny, flirting gamely with their audience of young girls. As an adult man, they didn’t even care that I was there, which is fine, it was the way it should be. I’m not their audience. They talked about being a Jonas and being a father and being an actor and the crazy whirl of pop stardom. And there were lots of videos. Scenes of the guys singing. Bloopers. The guys as little boys in their first theatrical roles.
They had a trivia game called “Know Your Bro” which put a fan up against each Jonas in a trivia contest about the other brother. We all learned that Joe Jonas has nightmares of being chased by Avril Lavigne. Who knew? Actually, the girl playing along knew. Good for her. For knowing that, she won a chance to take a picture with the Jonas boys and Santa Claus (yes, it is June), for her holiday card shot. The picture was taken on a Polaroid (who knew there were still Polaroids?), I guess so that it wouldn’t easily end up online.
And just over an hour into the show, it was over, probably close to half of that time was watching clips on a screen which have been seen before. However, none of the fans seemed to feel shortchanged as they filed out. It was an orgy of the senses for Jonas fans. And if you don’t care about the Jonases, you’d have been bored stiff. Then again, you wouldn’t have been there anyway. As the old song goes, the boys don’t like it, but the little girls understand.

Here’s what the 29-year-old Aussie actress told JJ exclusively for the mag:
On acting in more uncomfortable scenes: “Sometimes you just have to jump straight into it. The more that I can shed my own personal thoughts, fears, ego, so forth, the better. When you’re heading into uncomfortable territory, too much overthinking can just make it worse. I had a few scenes like that in Careful What You Wish For.”
On working with Nick Jonas in Careful What You Wish For: “I have a lot of respect for Nick. I really felt like he blossomed and grew as an artist — because he is younger, and being in this movie was sort of bigger shoes for him to fill in some ways. It was really incredible what he brought to this role. He was able to be spontaneous and take so any risks.”
On analyzing text from the script: “I mean, as long as you feel guided. I felt guided and safe with [Knight of Cups writer Terrence Malick], so I didn’t have this urge for control. You realize that you don’t analytically need to understand everything. You can sort of trust in the unfolding — the ever unfolding — because it’s the same as in life. You never really know.”
